Why We Require a Phone Consultation Before Scheduling a Tour

We get it—when you’re considering a tiny home, park model RV, or modular home, one of the first things you want to do is see it in person.
It’s a natural step in the process.
And while we do offer tours, they look a little different than what you might expect from a traditional model home experience. That’s because our facility isn’t a showroom—it’s a working warehouse.
We’re Not a Model Center—We’re an Active Build Environment
At Movable Roots, our homes are built inside our warehouse, where our team is working daily to meet build schedules and deadlines.
That means:
Homes are actively under construction
Materials and equipment are in use
The space is constantly moving
For safety, scheduling, and respect for our team’s workflow, we’re not set up for unscheduled or drop-in visits.
Why We Start with a Phone Consultation
Before we schedule any private tour, we require a quick phone consultation.
This isn’t about qualifying or filtering anyone out—it’s simply a chance to have a conversation first.
During that call, we can:
Learn what type of home you’re interested in (on wheels or foundation)
Understand where you are in the process
Answer any initial questions you may have
Talk through your property, timeline, or goals
This helps us make sure that when you do come out, the visit is actually helpful—not just a walkthrough without context.
Every Build Is Different—And So Is What You’ll See
Because we’re a custom builder, we don’t keep a standing inventory of completed homes on-site.
At any given time, we do have homes in the build process—but:
They may not be finished
They may not be the model you’re interested in
They may be at a stage that’s harder to visualize as a completed home
That’s another reason we start with a conversation first. It allows us to set clear expectations on what you’ll be able to see during a visit.
Understanding Where You Are in the Process
Not everyone reaching out is in the same stage—and that matters.
Some people:
Already have land and are ready to move forward
Are actively comparing options
Or are just starting to explore what’s possible
All of those are completely valid—but knowing where you are helps us guide the conversation and your next steps more effectively.
Just Looking to Tour a Tiny Home?
If you’ve never been inside a tiny home and are simply looking to experience one, we recommend attending one of our open house events.
During these events:
We have finished homes available to walk through
The environment is set up specifically for tours
No active construction is taking place
It’s a much better experience if your goal is to explore and get a feel for the space without the limitations of an active job site.
Our Goal: Make Your Time Worth It
At the end of the day, the phone consultation isn’t a barrier—it’s a way to make sure your time (and ours) is used well.
We want your visit to be:
Relevant to what you’re looking for
Informative, not confusing
And aligned with your next steps
Final Thoughts
We understand that requiring a phone call upfront may feel different from what you’re used to. But in a working build environment, it allows us to provide a better overall experience—from your first conversation to your visit and beyond.
If you’re ready to start the conversation, we’re here when you are. Schedule your phone call today!
