Meet the Maker — Behind the Scenes with Sue, our Accountability Ace

At Movable Roots, it’s the people behind the scenes who help make our homes—and our client experience—exceptional. Today, we’re excited to spotlight one of our newest team members: Sue, our Office Administrator and Accountability Ace.

Sue joined the team just two months ago and has already become a vital part of our day-to-day operations. With a sharp eye for detail and a steady hand on the administrative side of the business, she ensures everything runs efficiently behind the scenes. Her background in office management, paired with her natural sense of organization, makes her the perfect fit for our fast-paced environment.

Behind the Scenes with Sue

When people think “office administrator,” they might picture spreadsheets and filing cabinets. But Sue is quick to point out: “It’s not as tedious as you may think!” Her days are full and focused—best described in her own words as: “Busy crunching numbers.” And while she’s at it, she keeps the energy up with crime podcasts or a solid rock playlist.

Sue is no stranger to Movable Roots. She’s known our co-owner Jonathan for years, and when the timing lined up—Sue was ready for a change, and we had a spot open—we knew she belonged here. Her work ethic, attention to detail, and easy-going personality made her an instant fit.

Personal Touch

If Sue had the chance to design her own tiny home or park model, there’s one feature it must include: “A rooftop deck!” And her advice for future Movable Roots homeowners? “Get a rooftop deck!”

When asked to sum up Movable Roots in just one word, she didn’t hesitate: “Quality.” A value she lives out daily in her role.

Beyond the Office

When she’s not keeping the numbers in check, Sue is all about making the most of life outside the office.

• She loves to go camping—though she’ll be the first to admit she prefers glamping in an RV or cozy cabin with friends.

• A regular reader, she enjoys reading mostly for fun and is part of a book club.

• She’s always up for a live comedy show, a spontaneous road trip, or time with her family.

• Travel is a big passion. In 2024, Sue and her childhood friends managed to squeeze in two big trips—one to Ireland and another to Niagara Falls.

• And whether she’s at home or on the go, she never misses a full moon, sunset, or rocket launch if she can help it.
